The provincial government is investing in the construction of new passing lanes along key stretches of Route 11 to improve safety, with construction expected to be complete by the end of the year. 
“NB government is pleased to announce that work will begin soon to further improve safety for the travelling public along two key sections of Route 11,” said Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Richard Ames. “Both projects support our ongoing priority to provide a safer drive along this critical link in the province.” 
The two construction projects, valued at $11.5 million, will include lane additions for highway traffic travelling in both directions, including: 
Route 11 is a key transportation and trade corridor between northern and southeast New Brunswick, as well as Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.
